Coral Sea Marine Park, Australia
An isolated oceanic reef rising from depths of over 1,000 m in the Coral Sea, some 350 km north-east of Cairns. Its walls are washed by clear oceanic water and are renowned for shark encounters at North Horn, where grey reef, whitetip and silvertip sharks gather. Manta rays and dogtooth tuna are also seen.
Access & safety: Remote liveaboard destination exposed to open-ocean conditions. Walls drop far beyond recreational limits — strict depth discipline is essential.
