Hawaii — Maui, United States
A crescent-shaped volcanic crater about 4 km off Maui and a Marine Life Conservation District. Inside the crater, calm, clear water over coral gardens suits new divers, with Moorish idols, reef triggerfish, yellow tangs and green sea turtles. The Back Wall on the outer side drops steeply and is reserved for experienced divers due to currents and depth.
Access & safety: Boat access only, usually in the morning before the trade winds pick up. The Back Wall is an advanced drift dive. Do not stand on or touch coral.
